This attractive little gadget helps maintain a healthy amount of water in potted plants. Simply fill up the (real) glass jar, gently attach the ceramic stake, and lightly bury the stake about 3/4 of the way in potting soil. Over time, water will slowly wick from the bottle through the porous ceramic, keeping your potting soil moist without over-saturation. It won't replace watering, but they will decrease how often you need to water. At around 9in overall, these mini versions are bit smaller than the comparatively giant ones sold at some garden centers, and seem appropriate for use with 6in+ pots, hanging pots, container gardens, and other larger planters.

These are the same pruners we use in our grow rooms and for our vivarium displays. They are made from surgical stainless steel, and hold up to even our commercial levels of use. Some smaller desktop & decorative terrariums can be tough to work on, simply because the workspace is so tight. This set of 4 specialized tools makes working on small, deep, or difficult to access terrariums easier. The shovel can help open up pockets where plants will be added. The tongs are the most-used tool for us, which can help grip and position plants in a terrarium. The rake can help smooth out the planting surface after-the-fact, or simply to aerate the soil. The delicate brush's bristles are usually the last-used part of the kit, for brushing off any loose particulate which lands on the leaves of plants. All in all, this one is a neat little piece of kit to have when working on decorative terrariums.
